Bethany approaches her work with thoughtfulness, diligence and practicality.

Bethany’s practice focuses on advising clients in the public sector. In her professional regulatory practice, Bethany works with a variety of regulators on matters including professional discipline, legislative interpretation, and governance. For disciplinary hearings, she has assisted as both prosecuting counsel as well as independent legal counsel.

Bethany’s municipal practice has an emphasis on tax assessment, but she has experience advising municipalities on a broad range of matters such as bylaw drafting, inter-municipal disputes and agreements, and contract review. She also practices in the area of expropriation and advises both municipal clients and individual property owners.

Much of Bethany’s work involves administrative law, and she has experience with multiple boards and tribunals.

Bethany is also an active member of the wills, estates and trusts team. She enjoys helping clients plan for the future by drafting estate documents including wills, enduring powers of attorney, and personal directives. Her work in this area also includes estate litigation and estate administration, where she assists in bringing the estate to completion.

Prior to RMRF, Bethany gained valuable experience in the public sphere. She worked for Alberta Justice & Solicitor General during law school, and before that she worked as an intern for the Alberta Government in the Ministries of Education and Labour.

Bethany was a Writing Fellow at the University of Alberta Faculty of Law in 2017-2018. She was on the dean’s list throughout law school and graduated with distinction.
