2024 Wilson Moot

The University of Alberta Faculty of Law’s team emerged as the overall winner of the prestigious 2024 Wilson Moot, held this past week. Coached by Reynolds Mirth’s associate, Maddison Croden, the team’s triumph is a testament to their dedication and talent.

The Wilson Moot holds a special significance in the legal community, as it pays homage to the late Honourable Bertha Wilson, the first woman appointed to the Supreme Court of Canada. Honouring her legacy, the moot’s primary goal is the delve into critical legal issues concerning women and minorities, thereby fostering a deeper understanding and dialogue within the legal realm.

For the University of Alberta team, this victory is not merely a recognition of their academic excellence, but also a reaffirmation of their commitment to championing justice and equality. Their success highlights the importance of engaging with legal issues that impact marginalized communities, ensuring that their voices are heard, and their rights protected.

Under the guidance of Coach Maddison Croden, the team demonstrated exemplary skill and determination, navigating complex legal arguments with finesse and eloquence.

Congratulations to the University of Alberta Faculty of Law team for their outstanding achievement!
