Douglas R. Stollery Named a member of the Order of Canada

We are proud to announce that RMRF Counsel Doug Stollery was named a member of the Order of Canada on December 30, 2020.

The Order of Canada is one of our country’s highest honours. The Order honours people whose service shapes our society and whose compassion unites our communities.

Doug’s appointment recognizes “his wide-ranging contributions to Canada’s legal landscape, for his defence of human rights, and for his broad community involvement.” His extensive achievements and commitment to standards of excellence in law and our community have long contributed to the firm’s values.

One of the many highlights of Doug’s legal career was his pro bono work on Vriend v. Alberta, a critical case in Canadian human rights law. Doug recently completed his term as Chancellor of the University of Alberta and Chair of the University of Alberta Senate. He currently serves as an arbitrator in domestic and international commercial arbitrations.
