Austin is growing a litigation practice, with experience in employment, professional regulatory, and general civil litigation matters. He has assisted clients with matters before both the Alberta Court of Justice and the Court of King’s Bench of Alberta. As a former teacher with the Edmonton Public School Board, Austin brings his love of education into his practice and believes that good legal practice includes making the law accessible.
During law school, Austin held several leadership roles, including Editor‑in‑Chief of Canons of Construction, a law student‑run newspaper. He also served as a Dayleader with Student Legal Services, where he ran community outreaches to provide free legal information and referrals to low‑income and unhoused Edmontonians. As President of OUTlaw, he helped fundraise to support participants of Student Legal Services’ Trans ID Clinic with the costs of updating gender markers on identification. Austin now volunteers with the Edmonton Community Legal Centre.
Outside of his practice, Austin enjoys gardening, quilting, and participating in a weekly Dungeons & Dragons game. He is also an avid supporter of independent cinema.
