Employee’s Right to be Heard when Terminated: Analyzing Procedural Fairness and Just Cause
Mitchell is a driven civil litigator whose practice includes civil litigation, municipal law, employment law and construction law.
Mitchell joined Reynolds Mirth in 2019 as a summer student and completed his articles with the firm in 2022. Before finishing his articles, he also gained experience as a summer student at PCL Construction.
Mitchell provides legal assistance to clients in commercial and corporate disputes, appearing before all levels of court in Alberta. He also supports employers and employees in resolving issues related to employment, human rights, and terminations, as well as advising on human resource matters and drafting employment agreements and policies.
In his municipal law practice, Mitchell offers guidance on bylaw interpretation and prosecutes regulatory offences on behalf of municipalities across Alberta. He has also assisted with matters related to subdivisions and development and has acted as independent legal counsel for Subdivision and Development Appeal Boards.
In addition to his legal practice, Mitchell serves as an instructor at the University of Alberta, where he teaches Municipal Law to both undergraduate and Master’s students.
