Reynolds Mirth Partner Don Lucky to Receive King’s Counsel Designation

 

We are thrilled to announce that Reynolds Mirth Partner, Don Lucky, has been selected to receive the King’s Counsel designation.

This is a prestigious and storied recognition. Appointed by the Lieutenant Governor in Council following a thorough application and review process, lawyers who receive the King’s Counsel (KC) designation demonstrate the highest standards of competence and professional qualities, including honesty and integrity, to the extent that they are leaders in the legal profession.

Don’s distinguished legal career spans over 35 years and is marked by a dedication to the law and the legal profession. Don graduated with an LL.B. (with Distinction) from the University of Alberta in 1987. He was called to the bar in Alberta in 1988 after completing a clerkship at the courts and articles with our firm. In 1990 he received the Viscount Bennett Scholarship in support of graduate studies at Cambridge University and earned an LL.M. (First) from Cambridge in 1991.  He is also a member of the Law Society of Ontario.

Over the course of his career, Don has developed a deep knowledge in Construction Law. He leads Reynolds Mirth’s Construction Law Team and is recognized internationally as a leading practitioner, working on numerous construction mega projects throughout Canada, the United States and Australia.

He taught the Construction Law course at the University of Alberta’s Faculty of Law for many years and has received numerous awards and accolades, among them being named a Fellow of the Canadian College of Construction Lawyers.

A leader and mentor to many, Don also served on the firm’s Management Committee for 20 years. Don’s forthcoming appointment as King’s Counsel is a well-deserved recognition of his exceptional legal acumen and his unwavering commitment to excellence. We congratulate Don on this remarkable achievement and are honoured to have him as a distinguished member of our team at Reynolds Mirth.
