Heidi’s incisive and pragmatic approach to the practice of law is an asset to her clients.
Heidi carries on a general civil litigation practice with a particular interest in administrative law, estate litigation, commercial litigation, and condominium law. Her clients include condominium corporations, property owners, business owners, and professional regulatory organizations.
She has appeared before various boards and tribunals and has successfully represented clients at all levels of court in Alberta as well as the Supreme Court of Canada (leave to appeal).
Prior to attending law school, Heidi spent five years working for a large residential landlord as a Buyer and Expeditor. She volunteered for Student Legal Services throughout law school and worked as both a Civil and Family Day Leader and Civil Project Coordinator, gaining experience representing others in Provincial Court and various tribunals. She also worked as an academic research assistant. Heidi clerked at the Court of King’s Bench in Edmonton before joining Reynolds Mirth to finish her articles.
Heidi is a regular speaker for numerous industry groups and currently teaches Professionalism and Ethics at the University of Alberta Faculty of Law. She has also instructed Administrative Law at MacEwan University, has taught with the Legal Education Society of Alberta, and provided education to boards, tribunals, and members of self-regulated professions. Heidi was a member on the Board of Directors of Student Legal Services. She served for two years as the Chair of the WINhouse Board of Directors and continues as a current member. She is also a current member of the Board of Directors of the Alberta Residential Landlord Association.
